The struggle for Iran’s future is unfolding with a clear focus on reclaiming the nation from the grip of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). This fight is not abstract or distant; it is a city-by-city, town-by-town battle that begins with strategic moves along the coast and spreads inward toward Tehran. The Iranian people, supported by external allies, are preparing to challenge the IRGC’s control through a combination of naval and air support, training, and coordinated uprisings. This post explores the unfolding revolution, the key locations involved, and the challenges ahead.

Bandar Abbas as the Starting Point

Bandar Abbas, a major port city on Iran’s southern coast, stands as the first critical target in this campaign. Its location next to Qeshm Island and near the Straits of Hormuz makes it a strategic gateway. Controlling Bandar Abbas means controlling access to one of the world’s most important maritime chokepoints. The plan involves securing Bandar Abbas with naval and air support to establish a foothold for the revolutionary forces.

This city is expected to become a rallying point for defectors from the IRGC and other armed groups. Many within the military and security forces who oppose the regime’s direction are likely to join the fight here. The presence of external support, including training and arms supplied through vetted channels, will strengthen the revolutionary fighters’ capabilities.

The Role of External Support and Training

The success of this movement depends heavily on the support provided by allies such as Israel's Mossad and other intelligence agencies. These groups will vet, arm, and train Iranian patriots to ensure they are prepared for the intense conflict ahead. Training will focus on urban warfare, intelligence gathering, and coordination with naval and air units.

This external backing is crucial because the IRGC is a well-armed and deeply entrenched force with extensive resources. The revolutionary fighters will need to be highly skilled and organized to overcome the IRGC’s brutal tactics and ideological zeal.

Fracturing the IRGC Coalition

The memorandum of understanding (MOU) brokered by former U.S. President Donald Trump played a significant role in fracturing the coalition that supports the IRGC. This division has weakened the regime’s internal cohesion, creating openings for revolutionary forces to exploit.

As the battle for Bandar Abbas begins, many IRGC members and affiliated militias are expected to defect or surrender. This fragmentation will accelerate the revolutionary advance, allowing the patriots to gain ground city by city.

The Battle for the Straits of Hormuz

Securing the Straits of Hormuz is a key objective in this campaign. This narrow waterway is vital for global oil shipments and a strategic point for controlling maritime traffic. By taking control of the straits, revolutionary forces can disrupt the regime’s economic lifelines and limit the IRGC’s ability to project power. And realize funds for the revolution from re-claiming revenues from oil sales.

Naval operations will play a central role here, with coordinated air support to neutralize IRGC naval assets. The control of this area will also send a powerful message to the international community about the shifting balance of power in the region.

Urban Warfare and the Fight for Iranian Cities

The revolution will not be won overnight. It will require sustained efforts in multiple cities and towns across Iran. Each urban center presents unique challenges, from dense populations to fortified IRGC positions.

Revolutionary fighters will need to adapt to urban combat, using their training to minimize civilian casualties while targeting IRGC strongholds. The support of local populations will be essential, as will intelligence networks that can provide real-time information on enemy movements.

The Road to Tehran

Tehran, the capital, remains the ultimate prize. Its liberation will symbolize the end of IRGC dominance and the beginning of a new era for Iran. The city’s size and complexity mean that revolutionary forces must build momentum through smaller victories in other cities first.

The leadership of Rez Palavhi and his compatriots will be critical in this phase. They aim to establish a transitional government that is pro-Western and committed to rebuilding Iran’s institutions on democratic principles.

The Human Cost and the IRGC’s Brutality

The IRGC is known for its ruthless tactics and ideological fanaticism. The battle will likely involve atrocities and severe repression. Revolutionary forces and civilians alike must prepare for a difficult and dangerous struggle.

Despite this, the determination of the Iranian people to reclaim their country and build a better future remains strong. The fight is not just military but also moral, pitting the desire for freedom against a regime built on fear and oppression.

What Comes After the Revolution

Once the IRGC is dismantled and Tehran is liberated, the focus will shift to rebuilding. The transitional government will face enormous challenges, including restoring security, reviving the economy, and healing societal divisions.

International support will be vital in this phase, helping Iran rejoin the global community and develop sustainable Democratic

governance structures. The success of this revolution depends not only on military victory but also on the ability to create lasting peace and prosperity.
