Tourism Infrastructure
Tourism and tourist-oriented projects have a tremendous impact on Israel's economy as a whole and on individual communities that develop such facilities to strengthen their financial base. JNF continues to develop its forests to offer multifaceted outdoor recreational activities, creating hundreds of recreation areas throughout the country.
Park Development
Beyond the expected picnic and play facilities found at most recreation sites, JNF has developed parks taking advantage of specific themes: geology at Timna National Park, archaeology at Beit She'an and history at Jabotinsky Park. Other major parks honor Israel's leaders like the late former prime ministers Menachem Begin and Yitzhak Rabin. American Independence Park, outside Jerusalem, acknowledges with pride the partnership and shared democratic values of the United States and Israel. These parks attract thousands of visitors every year, providing places for relaxation and inspiration while enhancing local economies.
Beach Development
JNF has made remarkable progress in reclaiming the beach areas along the shores of Lake Kinneret, enhancing recreation and, more importantly, protecting the ecological balance of Israel's major source of fresh water.
Forest Amenitie
sAs part of its overall responsibility for the country's forests, JNF encourages utilization by as wide a public as possible. To meet this objective, JNF develops picnic and recreation sites as well as forest roads and trails.
Site Restoration/Archaeology
Archaeological activity creates a direct link between man, the earth and history, JNF takes an active part in the development of these projects located throughout the entire country, as well as the restoration of national sites of historical importance.
