COMMUNITY

The redemption of the land of Israel is far from over. In fact, the Government has declared the development of both the northern and southern periphery of the country one of its highest priorities. The population density in the center of the country, and the accompanying strain it places on all sectors of public services as well as on the environment, is rapidly approaching critical levels. However, it takes more than the desire for community development - it takes an enormous commitment of resources on all levels to make development in these areas feasible. JNF continues to play a central role in turning visions into reality.

Road Building

JNF is building regional, local and security roads in outlying areas of the Negev, Jordan Valley, Galilee and the Golan Heights in an effort to meet national priorities. Agricultural development depends on the creation of a suitable road network. Afforestation and fire-fighting depend on accessibility. In border regions, roads prepared by JNF provide safe, alternative access into communities. The reality today is that Israel depends on JNF to ensure that all of the country is fully accessible.

Playgrounds

Comfort zones. Life in Israel is intense for both children and adults. Support of JNF playground development makes a real and unique contribution to the quality of life for Israel's citizens.

JNF for IDF: Improvements in Military Installations

JNF continues to maintain its solid link with the Israel Defense Forces through projects designed to improve the physical environments at military outposts, making a significant impact on the day-to-day existence of the men and women serving at remote sites.

Agricultural Infrastructure

JNF plays a crucial role in turning back the desert wastelands, allowing Israel to bloom with thriving agricultural communities. In great part because of increased agricultural productivity of the Negev, Israel is over 90 percent self-sufficient in her food production and exports over 40 percent - one of the highest exportation rates in the world. Emphasis today is on the development of high-tech industrial hothouse parks, literally community builders, which bring economic viability to newly developed areas.
